Some images of the intense and frustrating experience that was the demonstration game put on by "Adrian Shepherd and Friends". The British failed in their objective to capture the last remaining flyblown Ottoman/German airstrip in northern Syria (a collection point for serviceable aircraft that would then fly on to Alexandretta) in the shadow of the Krak des Berger, the superb Crusader castle made for the game by Adrian Shepherd. At the end of the game, before we cleared away, we arranged all the vehicles to represent the British forces taking posession of the area following the Ottoman surrender on 29th October, 1918.

Mark, the game looks absolutely fabulous- you ticked off a lot of boxes for me.
I'm sorry to hear that this was a frustrating experience, but I've seen a couple of very favourable reviews on line so far.
It was only frustrating because the plan of attack went pear shaped! The game was great fun and I got the chance to talk to many people. The dice were not with the British yesterday. That is where the frustration comes from.
Well then you jet need to run the game again and look did a better result! The dice tide can be fickle, but all things tend to balance out in the long run.
The mounted figures in sky blue uniforms with red fezzes looked very interesting. I am putting together an Ottoman cavalry force for an 1898 alternate history game. I would love to know what these figures were and who painted them, as they looked quite well done and look to be similar to some I am working on. Any info would be much appreciated.
What an excellent looking game!
That castle is superb
Great looking game and excellent pictures Mark - somewhat ironic the area being fought over is Idlib, given that this appears to be where the final battle of the current Syrian war is about to take place......
Ottoman Gendarmerie. Perry Miniatures Sudan figures painted up by Adrian Shepherd.
Yes. That was the subliminal dub text. Hence the ancient ruins, the Crusader castle, Tommies and Turks and now......
Really splendid display, highlight of the show IMHO.
A splendid looking game Mark...
Lots of lovely eye candy
Adrian’s castles turned out rather well .
All the best. Aly
