The Other Partizan on 11th October saw The League of Extraordinary Kriegspielers gather together to refight the Battle of Minden, 1759. A huge table was needed to hold the 3000-odd figures that were required. Initial battle-plans went out of the window once we all saw how little room there was to maneuver. The refight had the legendary clash of French cavalry with allied infantry but the end result was deemed by the Umpires as a "tactical draw" given French strength that remained in the centre and right flank and a "strategic win" for the allies as they had managed to punch a hole in French centre but the Saxon infantry on the French left had blunted their further advance. A great day of gaming. The images here come from my phone and my friend Steve's FB post the League. Rules used were "Honours of War." Enjoy!
