Perry Plastic Hussar Challenge, Part 6.

Trooper, 6th Regiment of Hussars, about 1808. Lovely uniform to paint. This challenge will now be put on hold as some commission work now demands my attention.

Perry Plastic Hussar Challenge Part 5.

Trooper from the 5th Hussars in marching order, 1807. Oh... Achilles, I stopped counting the hours on Friday night. It was quite frightening. In excess of eight hours in total from bare plastic to completed figure with base. Good fun though. 6th Regiment already underway!

Musketeer Miniatures (Footsore Miniatures) WW1 Scots Officers

Painted up as 1/14th London Regiment (London Scottish) to accompany the enlisted men displayed elsewhere on the blog. Great miniatures by Paul Hicks. I wonder if the chaps at Gripping Beast will expand this small but well sculpted range now that they effectively run Musketeer, or will that be it seeing as Woodbines overlap the period?

Perry Plastic Hussar Challenge Part 2.

Here we have a trooper from the 2nd Regiment in parade dress, 1810. The plume, fur on the pelisse and the sheepskin shabraque have all been given some treatment with a heated scalpel blade to get in some texture that is lost due to these chaps being plastic.

Perry Plastic Hussar Challenge 2011

I've got twelve of the these left in the box so I intend to paint up one miniature to represent each of the twelve French Hussar Regiments from the Napoleonic period. One a month!

So here is the first. A trooper from the sixth company of the 1st Hussars, Spain, 1809, wearing summer campaign uniform and a pair of locally made canvas overalls.
