Footsore Miniatures WW1 1/14th London Regiment (London Scottish)

Currently out of production, these Paul Hicks sculpted figures are the best early WW1 kilted troops in 28mm. Footsore Miniatures tell me that they will be returning later this year.

Perry AZW British Mounted Infantry

Another product of the month of December. Happy New Year to one and all.

Sudan. Heavy Camel Regiment (mounted).

Painting time over the past few weeks has been difficult to find but I managed to complete the mounted Heavy Camel Regiment figures during that time.

Wargames Illiustrated Review of Volume 2 of WW1 Middle Eastern Theatre Painting Guide.

Those rather nice chaps at the WI have been so good as to produce another "flipthrough" of my second painting guide. Take it away, chaps!

Post Office Rifles, Egypt, 1882.

Egypt, 1882. Perry plastics from the AZW set with heads from the Afghan War set. The 24th Middlesex Volunteer Rifles (Post Office Rifles) sent just over 100 men to Egypt with Wolseley. They ran the Army Post Office and provided a telegraph detachment. So...to reflect their role in communications, I painted some up standing around a heliograph. The very dark blue palette does not take the varnish well....

Sudan: Heavy Camel Regiment (dismounted).

Twenty four Perry dismounted Camel Corps figures painted up as the Heavy Camel Regiment. Each bears the "2D" red patch of the Scots Greys detachment, who along with the 1st Dragoons detachment, formed a company of the HCR. Mounted to come....when I can face painting the camels!
