Indian Supply and Transport Corps 1917.

A little bit of "table dressing" to end the Big Guns for Mespot project. A scratchbuilt General Service wagon surrounded by boxes containing the necessities of war to represent the Ammunition Column of 17th (Indian) Division watched over by a sepoy from the Indian Service and Transport Corps.

Watcha, Frank. The figure is a Great War Miniatures chap from their British GS Wagon pack with a simple Woodbine headswap. The uniform is technically wrong, but seated and with a suitable paintjob I think he does quite nicely.

Mark many thanks for quick response. Your work is an inspiration I am considering Woodbine figs for Palestine but the Brits are in wrong uniform. Tempted to paint desert colours anyway but I'll know they are wrong, Frank

Frank, by all means use the Woodbine Tommies for Palestine. The uniform is not wrong. Just spend some time looking at photographs of British troops in Palestine and you will a HUGE variety of uniform being worn. Khaki serge and Khaki drill was worn and often mixed together. It gets cold at night in that part of the world and the winter were pretty rough in 1917. Tin helmets are also seen as well as Wolseley helmets. Mix up the standard Tommies from the section pack with their Tommies wearing shorts.
