Copplestone Castings WW1 British Officers.

A chance to paint up these Copplestones. Fantastic sculpts. More to come. Painted here as Officers from the Suffolk Regiment Territorials, a battalion that took part in the Palestine campaign, 1917.

Really great brushwork.

You have a very impressive and individual way of dealing with the painting of eyes.

BTW, what colours did you use as a base for the 'khakis'?

Hi Darrell!
The khakis with these chaps are all sorts of shades:
1. Base coat Vallejo Model Colour (VMC) Grey Khaki and highlight up with VMC Beige (gives a nice dark brown khaki drill).
2. Base coat VMC German Cammo Beige and highlight up with VMC Stone (a light khaki.... good for Italians in the desert too).
3. Base coat VMC Khaki and highlight up with white (good for shirts).
4. The Foundry British Uniform Brown triad.
5. Base Coat VMC Green Brown highlighted up with VMC Beige.
