I am not a natural painter of "modern" subjects and the painting of camouflage usually leaves me cold, but I was asked to paint up this small collection of Rhodesian Light Infantry from the Eureka Miniatures' 28mm African Wars range and, fancying a bit of a change, I accepted the task. The chap kneeing is a Selous Scout Tracker. I have tried to give the flesh tones a warmer, more sun-tanned look.
Bravo on the camouflage Mark, these look great.
ReplyDeleteNice work..Eureka certainly produce some lovely crisp sculpts
ReplyDeleteVery nice Mark...
ReplyDeleteAnd surprisingly...‘Modern’
All the best. Aly
Excellent!
ReplyDeleteI have some of these figures ready to tackle. Any hints on colours and approach to the camo?
Tim
Csmmo is s base coat of VMC khaki. Irregular patches of VMC medium Olive, then VMC flat brown and finally VMC flat earth. To be honest, daub the paint on and don't think to much on the end result. Life is too short! This is why I don't like painting cammo... It is very easy to be over critical of one's efforts.
DeleteThanks Mark. I appreciate any help I can get!
