Excellent - and an interesting change from the usual RCW headgear of peaked caps, papakhas and budenovkas. Just revived my own RCW project and may have to 'borrow' your idea - but I'm curious about where you found your references. I've not come across any pics of Bolshies in 'floppy' headgear like these. Rob, straight from an Osprey illustration. I gather that this "panama" cap, or something similar, was issued to the red army in hot places right up to the war in Afghanistan in the 1980s. I am no expert.
