A 75mm naval gun mounted into a railway wagon. The wagon is a MDF kit from Sarissa Precission. It has been built "inside out" so the timber lines the inside of the wagon and the smooth side is on the outside to represent steel. Some added rivets go further to suggest metal sides. The gun is a scratchbuild and the figures come from Copplestone and Brigade Games. There will be more of this sort of thing to come in the future.
Here is the inspiration.
A most impressive undertaking! Will there be a "rest of" the train? Will you be doing any additional painting to suggest metal work? Still this is quite deserving of respect and admiration.

ReplyDeleteExcellent job. I was actually thinking of doing something similar. The Czechoslovak Legion also used refitted cattle trucks to transport their troops, and had similar open metal wagons with rows of maxim hmgs. Very few of their trains were of the armoured variety. Looking forward to the next wagons you do.
ReplyDeleteReally brilliant work, Mark. I'm in awe at the models you're producing, and the quality of the painting. Terrific stuff!
